Downloading and Installing Vortex2.3

Your Vortex client download should start downloading within 4 seconds.

If it dose not start automatically then click here "Start Download Now".

1. Save the vortes23.exe file to a place on your desktop.
2. Print this page out for reference.
3. Close ALL applications, and disconnect from the internet.
4. Double click the vortex23.exe file you just downloaded.
5. Let the Installation proceed until it reboots your PC.
6. After rebooting you will find a newicon in your systray (next to your time).

1. Point and click on the icon in your systray.
2. From the pop up menu click on the "Open" menu item.
3. From the the tab labeled "System Control":
   • Enter the user name and paswsword you created when you subscribed
     to the Vortex service. If you haven't subscribed yet go to "Subscribe to Vortex".
     Be sure to write down your user name and password.
   • Click the "Apply" button.
   • Ckeck the "Vortex Service". If the light is flashing RED then click the "Start" button.
   • Click on the tab labeled "Main"
   • Check the "Profiles:", change it to "On" if not already.
   • The dfault server should be "vortex.ocdirect.net"
4. Close the Vortex control panel.
5. Open a browser and goto http://www.toast.net.
6. Thein your systray should change to a swirling Vortex when it is operating correctly.

1. Open a browser and goto http://www.toast.net.
2. From the top right corner of the toast.net webpage click on the link "Speedtest".
3. Select ether "Image", "Text", or "Both"
4. Click the the "Run" botton and wait for the results.
5. Turn off your Vortex by clicking the "Off" in the popup menu from the systray.
6. Clear your cache on your browser.
7. Run the test agin, and you can see the difference Vortex makes.
   
   NOTE: Try changing the speed setting, and find what works best for you.
